<title> A short time ago, just a few miles from home, a W&amp;LE train crew met a AVR train crew at Bruceton. The W&amp;LE crew had 101 empty coal hoppers that the AVR was there to take. Surprisingly, all 101 of those coal hoppers were 70 ton hoppers that still carry their original number but carry WE reporting marks, and a R after each number. The friction bearings were replaced with roller bearings but the journal box's and truck frames were those meant for friction bearings as the journal box's were still quite evident, but now without their lids. The hoppers had 6 pockets, 3 on each side and each seemingly had some type of rebuild work... Either new angle iron that was quite rusted...or new panels of steel...lots of rivets... The striking feature from these hoppers were the fact they were the enemies...formerly P&amp;LE cars. I wonder how many times during my four and one half years as Yardmaster at Champion I wrote down P&amp;LE 64641 on a Montour Railroad Conductors Wheel Report...or how many times I watched empty hoppers coming off the empty hill at Champion Preparation Plant after being dumped and comparing actual hoppers with their respected green coal bill that I had in my hand that was brought with each train coming from Montour 4, Montour 10 or Westland.... After dumping, the bills were given to the Champion Agent who would fill out a billing log and submitt it to the Superintendents Office at Champion Preparation Plant for payment... A few times, I helped Agent Gene McCuen and had it all filled out upon his morning arrival at Champion when I was working the Daylight slot. And I Just wonder in all of my Montour RR photographs... IS there any images of P&amp;LE 64641 derailed... At Boggs... Beaver Grade... Between Mile Post 7 &amp; 8... The Champion Run-A-Way... Jeffrey Town...East Portal... Gilmore Junction... Peacock... ...Or the countless places along the Montour RR where derailments occurred. Perhaps some exploration is in order as it seems WE 64641 is on its way, with 100 bretheren to retirement . I just wonder in any of Jack Polaritz's last Montour RR photos if P&amp;LE 64641 is in any of those last hopper trians ?</title>

<title>I came across this shot of GTC (Glassport Terminal Co.?) SW7. According to the engineer this was Montour 70 and upon further check I found it to also be Y&amp;S 70. There was a number 70 inside the cab. You may already have this one, but you can add it to your collection. This was taken 4-1-93 at Glassport. - Gene P. Schaeffer</title>
