Gene P. Schaeffer: On my way to Montour #4 this fine Saturday morning, I thought I stop at Miners Memorial field in the Coverdale section of Bethel Park and grab a digital photo of the Mine #8 monument. Mine #8 was part of the Pittsburgh Terminal Coal Company and was serviced by the Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railway who had trackage rights on the Montour from Salida-Juntion of P&WV's Mifflin Branch to Coverdale, which was a distance of 3 miles. If we could only find some photos of the P&WV on the Montour...

Here is a picture taken the same day that I took the freight house shot above (1975). This was the overpass the Montour crossed in Library. The freight house was to the right. A lot of graffiti, some of the worst was painted over by the Township. - Tim Sposato
